Importance of Safeguarding

Best Practice Reminder

Our club is a huge club with over 500 members representing across 48 teams that it's essential we reinforce and remind all parents, players and coach volunteers about our policies and procedures.

All of the clubs policies and procedures are important and must be followed, in addition we've made to changes to our clubs exececutive committee and added more qualified "Child Welfare Officers" to cover the size of the club.

The club under the Durham County FA banner are required to ensure all spectators, players, parents, coaches and volunteers within the club know our policies and procedures, therefore we have taken the approach of hosting a compulsory coach workshop to remind all coaches and parent liasion officers about these said policies and procedures on Monday 16th October.

The special meeting reinforced the key messages and improtantly that all the clubs policies and procedures including "Whisteblowing Policy" can be found on the clubs website under the "Documents Section". We encourage all members and parents to visit and read said p[olicies but to help we have also produced a credit card sized info card that your coaches will give each child and parent over the next couple of weeks. The card details the 5 new Child Welfare Officers at the club and the website URL to find our documents, on the reverse side it lists all the new look executive committee names and contact details.

The club executive committee believes that holding this special meeting and reinforcing the key messages will support the best practice across the club and makes all members and associated members aware.

If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to get in touch with a member of the executive committee.

Thank You
